It is an honor to have Jill Bauman join our team of instructors and we're looking forward to her class this fall! Jill moved from New York to Tucson in the fall of 2019 and discovered us through the Art Verve Village. We immediately fell in love with her and asked her if she could teach with us.

Unfortunately, soon after we had to shut down for the entire duration of the pandemic. The anticipated wait for Jill's "Drawing in Colored Pencil" class is over, it begins the first week of September 2021.

Prior to Jill's move into southern Arizona, Jill's been a freelance illustrator and designer for over forty years. During this time, she produced hundreds of covers for horror, mystery, fantasy, science fiction, and bestselling books.

She has also illustrated works by famous authors such as: Harlan Ellison, Stephen King, Peter Straub, Lilian Jackson Braun, Charles L. Grant, Robert McCammon, Richard Laymon, Jack Williamson, Hugh B. Cave, Fritz Leiber, Pamela Sargent, Michael Resnick, J. G. Ballard, Steward O'Nan and Justin Cronin and many more as well as other products for publishers such as: Ace Books, Tor Books, Avon Books, Doubleday Science Fiction Book Club, TSR, White Wolf, Inc., DAW Books, Berkley/Putam Publishing, St. Martin’s Press, Cemetery Dance Publications, Easton Press, Amazing Stories magazine, Fantasy and Science Fiction Magazine, The Horror Express magazine, Dark Discoveries magazine and Weird Tales magazine.

Jill's work has exhibited at the Delaware Art Museum, the Moore College of Art, Art Students League of New York the Illustrators Society of New York, and the Science Fiction Museum of Seattle. She has also been nominated for the World Fantasy Award five times and has been nominated for the Chesley Award several times.
